The Schoeckel, house mountain of the Grazer, is appropriate northeast for the state capital Graz (air line 13 km), approx. one ¾ hour travel time far away from the center. The Schoeckel is a steeped in tradition local recreation area and ranks among the most popular trip targets of the steirischen population. From its high plateau one sees 1445 m on clear days until far into the neighbouring countries. The view reaches over 150 km far up to ended the alps (Rax and snow mountain) in the east, up to the Slemen with Zagreb and up to the Triglav at the boundary of Slovenia and Italy.
